Yelena is an in-network provider with Empire Blue Cross
Blue Shield,Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and out-of-network provider with other insurance companies. You can contact Yelena with your insurance plan information, and she will call your insurance company and check if your plan covers acupuncture treatments.
Also, you can call your insurance company on your own and ask if it covers acupuncture or not. Please, do not forget to ask your insurance provider if you have a deductible, what percentage of the bill they cover, how many treatments are covered, and if there are any limitations on diagnosis codes.
If you do call your insurance company, please, inquire whether your policy includes treatments from a licensed
acupuncturist. Some plans only permit you to have acupuncture from a medical doctor. Please, understand that most medical doctors, who perform acupuncture, only have a certificate in acupuncture, not a degree. This means that they have completed a few weekends and watched some videos for their training. My training was a 4-year master's program, plus continuing education classes to improve and deepen my knowledge, and maintain certification with the NCCAOM.
